Nestled between the scenic Camelback Mountain to the south and the McDowell Mountains to the east, the town of Paradise Valley is situated in an upscale corner of the Valley of the Sun. Paradise Valley was once a rural area and it was named by three (03) surveyors who were sent there by the Rio Verde Canal Company in 1889. They were so wowed by the beauty and finest of the desert landscape that they named the area–Paradise Valley.

What to See & Do in Paradise Valley
Paolo Soleri's home and sculpture studio are Cosanti, the legendary Italian-American architect, visionary, and author who perhaps best known for Arcosanti, an experimental project intended to exist as a model for “Arcology,” or architecture coherent with ecology. Open to the public, Soleri maintains his home and studio in Paradise Valley.
Soleri’s famous copper wind bells are on display across its small studio and property and offered purchasable items within the store. The construction of Soleri's studio started in the 1950s and continues today. Cosanti just like Arcosanti north of Phoenix is a fascinating work-in-progress.
Where to eat at Paradise Valley
Part of the enjoyment of eating at Lon’s at the Hermosa Inn in Paradise Valley is the setting. Charming and always gracious, the Hermosa Inn was constructed in 1930 as the residence of cowboy artist Lon Megargee. Lon’s was opened in 1994, October and has been wowing the Valley taste buds ever since with its fresh American gourmet food. Many of the ingredients used at this restaurant are picked from its own garden.

Even if you’re not staying at the luxury Sanctuary on Camelback resort, there are still more things to do. Jade Bar boasts a secluded patio with unrivaled panoramic views of the town. There's a fireplace bowl for cool evenings within the desert, perfect for cozying up with one of the lounge/bar’s hand-selected spirits and exquisite cocktails, like their Grapefruit Basil cocktail, which features fresh herbs and vegetables.
