McCormick Ranch is known to be one of the largest organized communities in Scottsdale, just 7700 East McCormick Parkway, Arizona, AZ. It covers a large area of approximately 5 square miles, there are about 14,000 residents in McCormick Ranch. The community's population density per miles is about 2700 people. The McCormick Ranch lies in what is regarded as "central Scottsdale," between Shea Boulevard corridor to the north and the Indian Bend Road to the south. While the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) is to the east and the city of Paradise Valley, Arizona is to the west.
History of the McCormick Ranch
In 1921, the Jolly family constructed a ranch, about 160 acres located at the corner of Scottsdale. In 1942, it was purchased by Merle Cheney, who later sold it to Fowler & Anne McCormick. The ranch was mainly used as a winter home by the McCormicks. In the mid-1950s, Anne McCormick dedicated 150 acres of the northern part of her ranch near the intersection of Shea Boulevard & Pima Road as an equestrian center dedicated to Arabian horses and named it Paradise Park. And in 1970, after Anne died, a fraction of McCormick's land was sold to Kaiser-Aetna.

The McCormick Ranch has different high-end offices and shops which are located along the arterial streets that form its perimeter, plus a few others along interior streets. There are Commercial & recreational developments to the east of the SRPMIC which include The Golf course, Scottsdale Pavilions outdoor shopping center, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Butterfly Wonderland, & the Odysea Aquarium. It has about 130 acres of man-made lakes, more than 25 miles of bicycle paths, public tennis courts, & parks. The Scottsdale City parks interior to McCormick Ranch comprises Mountain View Park, Shoshone Park, Zuni Park & Comanche Park.
